Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority in America and Europe delivers speech at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine
The Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority in America and Europe, Sayed Murtada Al-Kashmiri, affirmed in his speech during the opening ceremony of the Rabi’ Al-Shahada Cultural Festival that Karbala represents “the point where heaven and earth met, and where the meanings of faith, freedom, and dignity were embodied.”
Sayed Al-Kashmiri pointed out that the millions of pilgrims who flock to the holy city—particularly during the Arbaeen pilgrimage—are no longer participating in a merely symbolic occasion, but rather in an unprecedented cultural and civilizational phenomenon.
He emphasized that Karbala stands as a clear reflection of Islamic values, and that Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) is presented to the world as a symbol of justice—one not confined to any specific group, but a mercy for all free people.
He further stressed that reviving the principles of the Hussaini uprising should not be limited to commemoration alone, but must be manifested in daily life through upholding human dignity, rejecting corruption, and acting with justice and compassion.
