Brazilian Muslim children participate in Quran Memorization Course in São Paulo
The Vila Cajon Islamic Center in São Paulo, Brazil’s economic capital, has organized a Quran memorization course for Muslim children as part of its efforts to strengthen Islamic identity and instill educational and moral values among younger generations of Muslims in Brazil.
According to the MuslimsAroundTheWorld website, the course has received wide interest and participation from Muslim children and their families. The program, which began approximately one month ago, will continue until the end of January, concluding with a grand ceremony during which outstanding participants will be honored with valuable prizes.
The course is held weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., in a supportive educational and social environment.
The curriculum includes Quran memorization, instruction in the rules of Tajweed, and explanations of forty selected Hadiths of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). In addition, lessons are offered in theology, jurisprudence, ethics, along with educational programs tailored for children and adolescents.
To date, several scholars, preachers, and respected members of the Muslim community in Brazil have delivered lectures as part of the course, which is conducted under the direct supervision of the Head of the International Islamic Center for Tolerance and Peace in Brazil and Latin America.
The center affirmed that such educational and training initiatives represent a cornerstone in promoting sound Islamic values and reinforcing religious identity among children and youth, particularly within multicultural societies. The course has been widely praised for its careful organization, strong academic content, and the fraternal spirit that has brought together Muslim children from various neighborhoods across São Paulo.
