Imam Hussain Holy Shrine continues humanitarian aid efforts for Palestinians in Gaza
The General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) remains steadfast in its commitment to providing humanitarian aid to the afflicted Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
As part of its ongoing efforts, the Shrine has established camps to shelter displaced Palestinian families and is sponsoring 200 orphaned children.
Mahmoud Al-Khawaja, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Al-Baqiyat Al-Salihat Association, stated, “We have implemented numerous projects on behalf of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) in the Gaza Strip to support the resilience of the Palestinian people.”
He elaborated, “Among these projects are Al-Zahraa 1 Camp, established in western Gaza, and Al-Zahraa 2 Camp in the Shuja’iyya area in eastern Gaza. These camps provide refuge to a large number of Palestinian families who have lost their homes.”
He further noted, “The Shrine has also committed to monthly sponsorships for more than 200 orphans—children of martyrs in Gaza—and has extended financial assistance to over 200 families who lost their homes during the war.”
In light of the ongoing hardships faced by Palestinian families, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan, the Shrine has distributed thousands of iftar meals to besieged families in Gaza. “These meals come at a time when the Gaza Strip is grappling with catastrophic economic conditions due to the prolonged blockade,” Al-Khawaja added.
These initiatives reflect the Holy Shrine’s unwavering dedication to supporting the Palestinian people, standing by them through adversity, and delivering a powerful message of solidarity with oppressed communities.
