University of Warith Al-Anbiya ranks fourth among Iraqi private universities in the Green Metric World University Rankings 2024
Imam Hussain Holy Shrine’s University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa announced it was ranked fourth among Iraqi private universities, and 12th among all Iraqi universities, according to the UI Green Metric World University Rankings 2024.
A statement released by the university mentioned that this achievement reflects the great efforts made by the university to improve the level of higher education and scientific research, while adhering to the highest standards of academic quality. It also enhances the university's position among prestigious educational institutions, and confirms its pioneering role in providing society with specialized competencies.
According to the Green Metric website, 1477 universities from 95 countries around the world competed in the world university rankings for 2024. The rankings aim to present the results of an online survey on the current conditions and policies related to sustainability efforts and institutional improvements in universities all over the world. It is expected that by drawing the attention of university leaders and stakeholders, more attention will be given to global climate change, clean energy, water conservation, waste recycling, green transportation, and sustainability education and research.
The UI Green Metric World University Ranking is a ranking on green campus and environmental sustainability initiated by Universitas Indonesia in 2010. Through 39 indicators in 6 criteria, UI GreenMetric World University Rankings prudently determined the rankings by universities’ environmental commitment and initiatives.
