A study has revealed a possible link between certain blood types and an increased risk of early stroke.

The results of the study showed that people with one of the blood types, type A, were more likely to suffer a stroke before the age of 60 compared to those with other blood types.

When the researchers looked closely at the specific blood type genes, they found that those whose genomes encoded for the A1 version of group A had a 16% higher chance of suffering a stroke before the age of 60 compared to other blood types.

Individuals with the O1 version of group O had a 12% lower risk of stroke.
