First plane lands at Karbala International Airport after major progress in its completion by Imam Hussain Holy Shrine
This morning, an Iraqi Air Force plane carrying the Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani, landed in Karbala via Karbala International Airport.
The Council of Ministers stated in a statement received by Karbala International Agency, that the plane of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces landed at Karbala International Airport this morning, and it is the first plane to land at the airport.
The statement added that Al-Sudani toured the airport departments and inspected the progress of work there, and was briefed on the latest achievements witnessed by the project.
Al-Sudani indicated that high hopes are looking forward to operating the airport during next year’s Arbaeen Pilgrimage.
The Iraqi Prime Minister directed to hold a periodic meeting every two months to follow up on the progress of work at Karbala International Airport, as well as Nasiriyah and Mosul International Airports.
The Prime Minister was received by the Secretary-General of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Hajj Hassan Rashid Al-Abayji, and local government officials in Karbala.
