India: Aligarh Muslim University hosts “Hussain Day” highlighting the values of Karbala

Aligarh Muslim University in India hosted a cultural and religious program titled “Hussain Day,” bringing together scholars, academics, poets, faculty members and students to commemorate Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) and reflect on the moral and humanitarian values associated with Karbala.

Held at the university’s Bait-ul-Salaat Hall, the event featured Quranic recitation, religious and elegiac poetry, and academic discussions on justice, sacrifice, courage, freedom and human dignity.

Speakers explored the legacy of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) from religious, literary and academic perspectives, highlighting Karbala’s continuing relevance to questions of moral responsibility, resistance to injustice and the defense of human dignity.

The program concluded with appreciation for the participating scholars, academics, poets, students and faculty members, while organizers emphasized the enduring relevance of Hussaini values in religious, cultural and ethical discourse.
