Malaysia is set to reinforce its position in the global halal market through the 22nd Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2026, which will be held from September 23 to 26 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).

The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) has invited local companies to join the International Sourcing Programme (INSP), a flagship MIHAS initiative that connects halal exporters with overseas buyers through pre-arranged business meetings.

According to MATRADE, strong international interest has reinforced MIHAS's status as one of the world's leading halal trade platforms. While food and beverages remain a core focus, the exhibition also covers sectors such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, fashion, Islamic finance, education, industrial equipment, packaging, and livestock products.

Organizers are targeting 4.5 billion Malaysian ringgit (approximately US$1.06 billion) in business transactions during MIHAS 2026, including 2 billion ringgit in export sales generated through the INSP program. More than 500 international buyers from 55 countries are expected to attend.
