New York City Tourism + Conventions, in collaboration with CrescentRating and HalalTrip, has released the 2026 edition of the New York City Halal Travel Guide as the city welcomes visitors for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Originally launched in 2022, the guide serves as a resource for Muslim travellers, offering information on attractions, services and experiences across New York City’s five boroughs—The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island.

The updated edition provides comprehensive details on halal-friendly dining options, prayer facilities, accommodation and cultural attractions. It also includes World Cup-related information, such as official fan event locations and a specially curated five-day itinerary for Muslim visitors attending the tournament.

New York City is scheduled to host eight matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including the tournament final.

According to the guide’s publishers, the resource is intended to help address key travel considerations for Muslim visitors during major international events, including access to halal food, prayer spaces and transportation services.

In addition to practical travel information, the guide showcases New York City’s rich Islamic heritage, highlighting landmarks, communities and cultural sites that reflect the city’s longstanding Muslim presence. The publication also features recommendations for shopping, dining and sightseeing.

The launch comes amid continued growth in the global Muslim travel sector. Data from the Mastercard-CrescentRating Global Muslim Travel Index 2025 shows that international Muslim traveller arrivals reached 176 million in 2024, with travel expenditure projected to reach US$235 billion by 2030.
