The Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain continues construction of orphan schools in Dhi Qar, with completion rates exceeding 68%
The General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) continues work on the Imam Hussain Schools project for orphans in Dhi Qar Governorate, where construction has reached advanced stages. The project aims to provide a comprehensive and modern educational environment for orphaned children in the region.
Safwan Al-Safi, Supervisor of Southern Projects at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, stated: “This project represents a significant step forward in supporting various segments of society, particularly orphans, through the establishment of a suitable and integrated academic environment.”
He explained that the project covers an area of 31,000 square meters and includes five multi-story school buildings, in addition to a kindergarten and a multi-story service building. He added that the overall completion rate has surpassed 68%, noting that the project is being implemented in accordance with international standards.
Al-Safi further noted that each school will accommodate more than 1,100 students, significantly enhancing the educational capacity available for orphaned children in Dhi Qar Governorate.
Meanwhile, Engineer Sajjad Adnan of the Engineering Projects Department at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain stated that the construction materials used in the project were carefully selected from internationally recognized sources. He pointed to the use of marble, GRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete), and Karbala tiles for the exterior facades, as well as porcelain flooring and high-quality paints for the interior finishes.
He emphasized that the project is being carried out according to modern engineering standards that combine functionality with aesthetic quality, ensuring the creation of an advanced and supportive educational environment for orphans in Dhi Qar Governorate.
