In fulfillment of its religious and national responsibility to safeguard the sanctity of the Holy Shrines, the General Secretariat of the Al-Kadhimiya Holy Shrine convened a coordination meeting with officials from relevant departments and divisions.

According to a report published on the shrine’s official website, participants held in-depth discussions on the proposed “Law on the Sanctity of Holy Shrines.” The meeting reviewed the draft’s key provisions and central themes, with particular emphasis on the legal and regulatory frameworks intended to preserve these sacred sites and uphold their sanctity.

Discussions also addressed the distinctive character of the holy city of Al-Kadhimiya—especially the areas surrounding the Noble Al-Kadhimiya Courtyard—highlighting the importance of preserving its religious identity and cultural heritage. In addition, several proposals and legal formulations were presented to help regulate the city’s administrative and urban development.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to prepare a comprehensive legislative bill that aligns with existing legal frameworks and strengthens the protection of the Holy Shrines. These steps pave the way for submitting the draft law to the competent authorities to complete the required legislative procedures.
