The Iranian Red Crescent Society has affirmed that the Iranian people are in urgent need of medical and relief support under the current circumstances, while commending the assistance provided by the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain.

Amin Tabatabaei, Director of the Society’s office in Iraq, stated in a press release that the situation has led to a severe shortage of medical equipment and supplies, alongside an urgent need to rescue the injured trapped under rubble following damage to a large number of ambulances.

He added that while basic food supplies remain relatively available, the most pressing need is for medical and emergency assistance. He noted that the aid convoy sent by the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain includes more than 22 trucks carrying a wide range of medical equipment, devices, and relief materials.

Tabatabaei further explained that the initiative was carried out under the directives of Ali al-Sistani, the Supreme Religious Authority, and under the supervision of the Holy Shrine.

He expressed deep appreciation for the stance of the Supreme Religious Authority and the Iraqi people, affirming that the aid will help strengthen the healthcare sector and support the treatment of the injured. He also emphasized the strong and enduring ties between the two nations.
