Karbala receives 1200 mourning processions and 8800 service tents to provide various types of services to pilgrims
The Department of Hussaini Rituals and Processions in Iraq and the Islamic World, affiliated with the General Secretariats of Imam Hussain and al-Abbas Holy Shrines, revealed the number of Hussaini processions present in the holy city of Karbala to revive the rituals of Arbaeen Pilgrimage this year.
Sayyed Hashim al-Mousawi, deputy head of the department, said, “The province of Karbala has received 10,000 processions and service tents, according to the legal controls of the Department of Hussaini Rituals and in coordination with the Karbala Operations Command, to revive the Arbaeen Pilgrimage.”
He added that 8800 service tents are distributed at the province’s entrances near the Holy Shrines.
The service tents provide free food, drink and rest areas to the pilgrims, while following the directives of the Supreme Religious Authority, and health guidelines to prevent further infections of Covid-19.
