Al-Zahraa University for Women, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, participated in the 57th Session of the Association of Arab Universities, held at the International University for Science and Technology in Kuwait. The event gathered senior academic representatives from across the Arab world to discuss collaboration and developments in higher education.

University President Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani noted that the invitation came from Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Association, and described the session as a key opportunity to strengthen academic cooperation and exchange expertise.

Al-Zahraa University actively participated in the sessions, presenting a paper highlighting Iraq’s support for the Palestinian cause—particularly regarding the Gaza crisis—and the role of Iraqi universities and the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine in supporting displaced students.

The conference addressed vital topics such as university rankings, AI and cybersecurity programs, and transitioning to digital learning environments. Dr. Al-Sultani also announced that the university signed several academic cooperation agreements, including with the University of Palestine and the Smart College for Modern Sciences, and is in talks with the University of Sharjah for future collaboration.

She emphasized that the university’s involvement supports the Ministry of Higher Education’s "Study in Iraq" initiative and reflects Al-Zahraa University’s commitment to empowering women and building an inclusive, research-driven academic environment.
