The Al-Kafeel Museum of Treasures and Manuscripts at the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine has inventoried 5,100 artifacts across 40 categories as part of its annual review of museum holdings.

Conducted according to established scientific and methodological standards, the inventory aims to update artifact records, verify the condition of the holdings, and document their storage locations.

Ahmed Munir, head of the Materials Receipt Unit within the Warehousing Division, told Karbala Now Agency that museum staff had successfully classified and inventoried 5,100 artifacts across 40 categories. He said the process includes monitoring the holdings, verifying their condition, and cross-referencing inventory data with official records.

Munir explained that the systematic inventory is intended to safeguard the museum's collections and ensure that the physical holdings correspond with approved records and documentation. It also helps staff maintain up-to-date information on each artifact, monitor its condition and location, and identify any changes or damage at an early stage.

The inventory findings also help the museum assess its storage and preservation needs, including requirements for display cases, packaging materials, environmental controls, and security measures.
