Secretary General of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine: Arbaeen is a global gathering of humanity and solidarity
The Secretary-General of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine described the Arbaeen pilgrimage as a global humanitarian gathering that reflects the values and principles championed by Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).
Hassan Rashid Jawad Al-Abayechi said approximately 20 million pilgrims participated in this year's Arbaeen pilgrimage, including more than 5 million Arab and international visitors from over 172 countries, representing diverse nationalities, religions, and sects.
Speaking at the opening of the 10th International Scientific Conference on the Arbaeen Pilgrimage, organized by the Karbala Center for Studies and Research, Al-Abayechi said the gathering reflects the enduring humanitarian message of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).
He highlighted principles associated with the Hussaini uprising, including rejecting injustice, supporting truth and the oppressed, promoting good and opposing wrongdoing, and upholding human dignity and rights.
Al-Abayechi said Arbaeen has developed into a global example of brotherhood and solidarity, bringing together millions from different backgrounds and demonstrating the universal appeal of Imam Hussain's message of freedom, justice, and resistance to oppression.
