Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain advances Institute for the Blind project
The Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain continues work on a specialized educational complex for the blind in the holy city of Karbala, aimed at supporting education, training, and human development.
Engineer Alaa Hassan Hadi, Director of the Noor Al-Imam Al-Hussain Institute for the Blind project and a member of the Shrine’s Engineering and Technical Projects Department, stated that the four-story facility is currently under construction in Karbala’s Al-Tahaddi district.
The project spans 1,800 square meters, with a total built-up area of 4,700 square meters. It includes 20 classrooms, seven workshops, an art studio, and six dormitory halls, along with a 250-square-meter indoor sports hall.
The complex will also feature dedicated spaces for teachers, four elevators (including one for services), and essential facilities such as a cafeteria, kitchen, administrative offices, restrooms, and an information desk.
