The Department of Strategic Projects at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain has announced the continued progress of the Khatim Al-Anbiya (peace be upon him and his family) Specialized Hospital for Cardiovascular Diseases in Karbala Governorate, noting that the overall completion rate has reached approximately 80%.

Project Director, Engineer Maytham Al-Quraishi, stated that work is advancing at an accelerated pace, with significant progress achieved across various phases of construction.

He explained that the project is being developed on a 16,000-square-meter site, with a total built-up area of approximately 35,000 square meters. The hospital has been designed in accordance with the latest international standards for specialized healthcare facilities, ensuring efficient internal flow, integration between departments, and high-quality medical services.

Al-Quraishi noted that the hospital comprises three main buildings. The primary structure consists of 11 floors and will accommodate 157 beds. It includes a surgical department with seven advanced operating theaters, including a Hybrid Operating Room (Hybrid OR)—one of the most advanced technologies in the field—as well as four cardiac catheterization suites.

He added that the project also features a dedicated six-story parking facility to regulate traffic flow and serve both visitors and staff, along with a separate utility building housing mechanical and electrical systems, including transformers and generators, to ensure uninterrupted power supply around the clock.

He further emphasized that the hospital will be equipped with fully integrated technological infrastructure, including central HVAC systems compliant with health standards, smart fire detection and suppression systems, public address systems, and modern elevators and escalators. The facility will also be outfitted with the latest diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment.
