The Governor of Holy Karbala, Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi, confirmed on Wednesday that more than six million pilgrims participated in the pilgrimage marking the 15th of Shaaban, praising the efforts of the two holy shrines and the security forces for the successful conduct of the event.

Speaking at a press conference, Al-Khattabi stated that the Mid-Shaaban pilgrimage witnessed the participation of more than six million pilgrims in Holy Karbala.

He expressed his appreciation to the two holy shrines in Karbala, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani, the Ministries of Defense and Interior, the Army Chief of Staff, the Popular Mobilization Forces, and all other security and service entities that contributed to the implementation of the security and service plans for the pilgrimage.

Al-Khattabi noted that the security plan was prepared by the Karbala Operations Command in coordination with the Ministries of Defense and Interior and the Popular Mobilization Forces, with the active participation of all relevant parties, ensuring a safe and orderly pilgrimage.
