Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain opens 18 schools in Karbala covering 12.5 hectares, alongside educational projects in other provinces
The Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi Al-Karbalaey, inaugurated the Al-Salam Educational Complex in Karbala Governorate in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, Mr. Hassan Rashid Al-Abayechi, the Governor of Karbala, and a number of academic and educational figures.
During the opening ceremony, His Eminence affirmed that the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain is implementing a major educational initiative in Karbala that includes the construction of eighteen schools spanning a total area of 12.5 hectares, in addition to other educational projects currently underway in several southern and central provinces of Iraq.
Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi Al-Karbalaey explained that there are two complementary perspectives on the educational process. The first views education as the provision of essential and specialized academic, literary, humanistic, and social knowledge. The second addresses the concept of deficiency and incompleteness, emphasizing that humanity requires comprehensive knowledge and awareness in order to fulfill its role as God’s vicegerent on Earth.
