Al-Warith Cancer Foundation announces 2025 medical service statistics
The Al-Warith Cancer Foundation, affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, has released its statistical report for medical services provided in 2025, highlighting its continued efforts to deliver specialized healthcare to cancer patients from Iraq and abroad.
In a statement to Karbala Now Agency, Dr. Haider Al-Abidi, Head of the Al-Warith Cancer Foundation, said the institution received 5,309 patients during the year, while outpatient clinic visits reached 65,697—an indicator, he noted, of growing confidence in the quality of care provided.
Dr. Al-Abidi added that the medical teams carried out 2,715 medical procedures, performed 1,527 specialized surgical operations, and administered approximately 32,000 chemotherapy doses in accordance with the latest internationally approved treatment protocols.
He further explained that the foundation conducted 54,879 laboratory tests to support accurate diagnosis and ongoing patient monitoring. The bed occupancy rate reached 63.4 percent, with an average patient stay of four days.
According to Dr. Al-Abidi, the mortality rate stood at 2.9 percent, reflecting the efficiency of the medical and nursing staff and the overall standard of healthcare delivered at the facility.
He emphasized that these achievements are the result of continuous support from the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, along with the dedicated efforts of both medical and administrative teams. He reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to further developing its services and expanding its capacity in the coming years, in line with the highest humanitarian and medical standards.
