Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain concludes the Fourth International Kawthar Al-Isma Cultural Festival
The Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain concluded the Fourth International Kawthar Al-Isma Cultural Festival on Sunday, December 14, 2025, in the presence of religious, academic, and government officials, as well as a large gathering of residents of the holy city of Karbala.
Ali Kadhim Sultan, a member of the festival’s preparatory committee, stated, “Today, the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain witnessed the closing ceremony of the Fourth International Kawthar Al-Isma Festival. The program was rich and diverse, featuring a wide range of activities held at universities, schools, within the Holy Shrine, and across other governorates. During today’s ceremony, a number of individuals from Karbala who contributed to the success of the festival were honored.”
He added that what distinguished this edition from previous ones was the inclusion of two festivals: a women’s festival and a general festival.
Sultan further explained that the festival saw participation from more than 20 countries, represented by guests who took part in various activities, including delivering lectures at universities and conducting specialized workshops.
