Karbala: Preparations underway for international conference on the Arbaeen Pilgrimage

On July 12, 2025, the Karbala Center for Studies and Research, affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), held a preparatory meeting to finalize arrangements for the upcoming Ninth International Scientific Conference on the Arbaeen Pilgrimage.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Abdul-Amir Al-Quraishi, Director of the Center, and attended by Professor Dr. Nadheer Jabbar Al-Hindawi, Scientific Assistant; Mr. Salah Al-Safandi, Administrative Assistant; Dr. Riyadh Al-Jumaili, Chairman of the Advisory Board; as well as other members of the Board.

Discussions focused on key organizational aspects of the conference, including research themes, scientific participation, and logistical planning to ensure the conference meets its objectives. The participants also reviewed proposals submitted by the organizing committees aimed at enhancing the overall quality and success of the event.

Mr. Al-Quraishi underscored the significance of the conference as a platform for exploring the intellectual, cultural, and social dimensions of the Arbaeen Pilgrimage. He emphasized the importance of coordination among all relevant departments to deliver a conference that reflects the spiritual and global significance of the pilgrimage.

The Ninth International Scientific Conference on the Arbaeen Pilgrimage is scheduled to take place on 23–24 Safar 1447 AH (August 18–19, 2025), under the theme: "The Arbaeen Pilgrimage: An Embodiment of Spiritual Values and Scientific Progress."

The event will feature the participation of a distinguished group of researchers and academics from Iraq and abroad, further establishing Karbala as a center of scholarly engagement on one of the world’s largest religious gatherings.
