Engineering and technical teams at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain are continuing work on a project that combines a general hospital with an educational simulation hospital affiliated with the College of Medicine at Warith Al-Anbiya University.

Engineer Mustafa Malik, project manager for the general hospital and educational simulation hospital, said the project covers a total land area of 4,400 square meters, including landscaped areas, parking facilities and dedicated access roads from all directions. The building will comprise a ground floor and six additional stories.

Malik explained that the project brings together a general hospital offering a range of medical specialties and an educational simulation hospital dedicated to the Warith Al-Anbiya University College of Medicine. The facility is designed to provide medical students with an advanced environment for practical training and clinical education.

The project is being constructed in accordance with advanced hospital construction specifications and international standards for design, implementation and medical equipment. The Holy Shrine is also working with reputable and specialized companies to supply medical devices, equipment and other project requirements in line with established quality and technical standards.

Malik noted that the establishment of an educational simulation hospital in Karbala represents a significant development in medical education and is the first facility of its kind in Iraq. The initiative was adopted by the Holy Shrine under the direct supervision of its Engineering and Technical Projects Department to strengthen practical and educational training for medical students.

The project reflects the Holy Shrine’s broader strategy to develop healthcare and educational infrastructure and strengthen cooperation between medical and academic institutions. Through modern facilities, specialized equipment and contemporary design standards, the project aims to contribute to improving the quality of healthcare services and medical education in Karbala.
