Imam Hussain Holy Shrine commemorates Holy Prophet’s birthday in Erbil

The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine commemorated the birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, in the presence of its representative in the region, Sheikh Ali Al-Qarawi, along with religious scholars and representatives of various communities and sects.

The celebration opened with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by reciters from the Holy Shrine’s Quran House. This was followed by a lecture delivered by Sheikh Alaa Al-Sa’idi, who addressed the life and legacy of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family), emphasizing the significance of his birth and his message in promoting love, unity, and peaceful coexistence.

The program also featured poetry recitations and religious hymns before concluding with the distribution of sweets and refreshments to attendees.

The event brought together participants from diverse religious communities and sects, providing an opportunity for dialogue and interaction while strengthening bonds of coexistence and mutual understanding.

Sheikh Ali Al-Qarawi, representative of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine in the Kurdistan Region, said that “the Holy Shrine is expanding its presence in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq,” noting that the initiative is supported by the Shrine’s senior administration.

He added that the Holy Shrine’s activities in Erbil are progressing positively, highlighting cooperation with the Kurdistan Region’s Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs in organizing religious programs and events and strengthening ties with religious institutions and scholars across the region.

Al-Qarawi emphasized that these initiatives form part of the Holy Shrine’s broader efforts to expand its religious and cultural activities and create opportunities for dialogue and engagement with the diverse communities of the Kurdistan Region.
