A high-level Pakistani delegation visited the holy city of Karbala at the invitation of the Imam Hussain Center in Islamabad, an affiliate of the Media Department at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, to strengthen religious, cultural, and media ties between Iraq and Pakistan.

The delegation included prominent religious, political, and media figures, among them former Jamaat-e-Islami leader Siraj-ul-Haq, ARY News presenter Waseem Badami, and Geo News political analyst Irshad Bhatti.

During the visit, the delegation paid respects at the shrines of Imam Hussain and Abu Al-Fadhl Al-Abbas (peace be upon them) before meeting with officials of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine. They were briefed on the Shrine's religious, medical, educational, cultural, media, and humanitarian projects, as well as its services for millions of pilgrims.

The two sides also discussed expanding cooperation in media, culture, and knowledge exchange. Delegation members praised the Shrine's development projects and described its services for pilgrims, along with its healthcare, education, and humanitarian initiatives, as a model for the Islamic world.

They expressed hope that this visit would contribute to strengthening religious, cultural, and media ties between Iraq and Pakistan, and open broader horizons for cooperation that serves mutual interests and fosters communication between institutions in both countries.
