The largest housing project for the poor implemented by the Supreme Religious Authority in Karbala
With direct support from Grand Ayatollah Sayyed al-Sistani and under the supervision of his representative, Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi al-Karbalaey, and through the Imam al-Redha Foundation for Relief and Housing, the completion rate for the ‘al-Diyar al-Tayba Charitable Housing Project’ was announced, which is one of the province’s largest housing projects for the poor.
The director of the project executing company, Engineer Fawzi al-Shahir, said, “With on-site follow-up by the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, we are working to complete the ‘al-Diyar al-Tayba Charitable Housing Project’, which includes more than 320 modern housing units that will be given to the poor during the next year.”
“The project, which exceeded 40% completion rate, is being implemented on a total area of 9.2 hectares, with an area of 140-square-meters for each housing unit, in addition to public services and facilities, including a large mosque, schools for boys and girls, a shopping center, clinic and recreational areas,” added al-Shahir.
The Imam al-Redha Foundation for Relief and Housing, affiliated with the Supreme Religious Authority and chaired by Imam Hussain Holy Shrine Chief Cleric, Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi al-Karbalaey, is one of the major foundations that work to provide services to the poor including housing, health care and education.
