The Wal-Qalam Center for Arabic Calligraphy, affiliated with the Holy Quran House at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, inaugurated the third edition of the Al-Naba' Al-Adheem International Exhibition as part of the cultural and artistic program accompanying the Fourth Karbala International Award for the Recitation, Memorization, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran.

Muhammad Al-Mashrafawi, Director of the Wal-Qalam Center, stated that this year’s exhibition features the participation of 110 artists from eight Islamic countries, showcasing a rich diversity of Arabic calligraphy styles—including Kufic, Thuluth, Diwani, Naskh, and Ruq’ah.

The exhibition includes a variety of artworks featuring hadiths of the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) that highlight the virtues of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), along with well-known supplications and sayings, all presented through a wide range of calligraphic and artistic techniques.

A key highlight of the exhibition is a collaborative artwork—a visual composition combining Quranic verses and the Hadith of Ghadir, rendered in multiple calligraphic styles. This piece aims to beautifully convey the essence of the occasion through the language of art.

Al-Mashrafawi noted that this third edition marks a significant step toward enhancing the exhibition’s international scope, fostering new avenues of collaboration with artists and cultural institutions across the Islamic world.
