Karbala hospital welcomes first international patient from Tajikistan after earning global accreditation

Imam Zain Al-Abideen Hospital, under the Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has received its first international patient from Tajikistan following its recent accreditation by the German-based Temos Foundation.

Hospital media director Mustafa Al-Mousawi stated that the pediatric cardiac surgery team treated a four-year-old child with congenital heart defects. The operation, performed by a specialized team from Georgia, was successful, and the patient was discharged in good health.

Al-Mousawi noted that welcoming international patients marks a significant milestone, reflecting the hospital’s commitment to delivering top-tier healthcare aligned with global standards.

The hospital’s accreditation comes after nearly two years of dedicated efforts to implement and uphold international healthcare quality protocols.
