The Shrine's medical authority pays 1.1 million USD for the medical initiative launched by the Holy Shrine

The Health and Medical Education Authority at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine announced spending over 1.1 million USD during the paid initiative held by the Holy Shrine, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Imam Hassan al-Mujtaba, which lasted for three days.


Dr. Haider Al-A'bedi, the authority's official, said in a statement to Karbala International Agency, "Under the guidance of his eminence, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalai, the initiative kicked off coinciding with Imam Hassan Al-Mujtaba's birth anniversary."


He stated, "All services provided in medical centres and hospitals were at the Holy Shrine's expense, noting that the service was provided to more than 18,000 patients from various Iraqi governorates, where over 1.1 million USD costs and 450 various surgeries were performed."


In addition to medical examinations, including MRI, which exceeded 450 examinations, 350 radiation and ultrasound examinations, and laboratory examinations, which amounted to 79,000 examinations.
