The Holy Shrine allocates 200 million dollars to expand the Wareth Foundation for Oncology

The head of the Health and Medical Education Authority at the Holy Shrine, Dr. Haidar Al-Abidi, announced that Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has allocated additional funds to expand its centres and institutions that provide free treatment services to cancer patients in the country.



Al-A'bidi stated that Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalai, the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, has instructed to increase the number of medical centres offering free treatment for children with cancer.


He added, "The Holy Shrine dedicated 200 million dollars to expand its centres and institutions that provide free treatment services for children with cancer, noting that the Wareth International Foundation for Oncology has provided services for ten thousand children fighting cancer."


He concluded, "The Holy Shrine established the Wareth International Cancer Foundation, intending to reduce travel and provide treatment for cancerous diseases inside Iraq so that the Shrine will aid and support patients."


It is stated that the Holy Shrine inaugurated the Wareth International Foundation for Oncology Treatment in August 2021 to provide low-cost services and fees for patients and free services for children under 15.
