Under the auspices of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine and with international and local participation, the activities of the Second International Conference to Combat Extremism and Terrorism kicked off in Ummu Abeeha Hall at al-Zahraa University for girls.

Dr. Abbas Al-Daami, head of the conference's scientific committee, stated to Karbala International Agency, "Many parties and researchers from inside and outside Iraq, and from security, academic, and religious institutions attended the conference."

He continued, "16 countries attended the conference, and there were more than 164 research papers submitted to this conference, and the research will be discussed and evaluated."

He concluded, "The conference's outcomes will have a realistic impact, explaining that the Holy Shrine is serious about implementing the conference's outcomes and cooperating with all relevant institutions and authorities internally and externally to combat the terrorism that has ravaged our beloved Iraq."
