The Communications and Media Authority announced massive statistics for Sha'ban Pilgrimage

The Communications and Media Commission revealed that during Sha'ban, over 13 million mobile phone network users made more than 50 million calls. 


In a statement to the Karbala International Agency, Ali Al-Muayyad, the head of the authority, stated that the central operations room established by the authority for the pilgrimage recorded 13.467 million mobile network users over five days. There were 12.784 million local subscribers and 692 thousand international subscribers.


He added, "50,111 million phone calls were made, including 49,743 million local calls and 367,000 international calls, besides 43,489 million text messages being sent, including 1.4 million international messages, indicating that the total volume of data transfer exceeded 2,130K terabytes." 


The Communications and Media Commission had previously announced the deployment of 17 fixed stations and two mobile stations (COWs), besides 869 permanent cells, while increasing the number of towers connected to the fibre optic network to 422 towers at a growth rate of 25%.
