Ali Kadhim Sultan, Chairman of the Preparatory Committee of Rabee al-Shahada Festival, stated for the International Media Centre, "The 17th edition of Rabee al-Shahada Festival, which is held by the General Secretariat of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, is attended by over 40 Arab and foreign countries and various sects."

He continued, "There are poetry evenings, research sessions, and central celebrations on this occasion, and there are Qur'anic evenings and women's activities as well, in addition to a book fair."

He concluded, "The festival's goal in inviting public figures is to send a message to foreigners that Imam Hussain is for all human beings."
