The Chairman of the Preparatory Committee for Rabee al-Shahada Festival, in its 17th edition, which is organised by Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, announced the completion of preparations for the festival.

Ali Kadhim Sultan, head of the preparatory committee, stated to Karbala International Agency, "The festival will be held under the slogan (The Awakening of the 'Free People and the Secret of Victory) with the participation of over 100 influential figures from 30 different countries.

He added, "The festival includes a group of diverse activities and programmes, such as scientific research sessions and an international book fair, in addition to a special exhibition for Iraqi competencies and inventors."

It is stated that the festival is held annually by the Holy Shrine from 3–7 Sha'ban.
