The Holy Shrine participates in the Taqat medical forum in London

The General Secretariat of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, represented by the Health and Medical Education Authority, announced the launch of medical fellowships for young, outstanding Iraqis and a significant award in scientific medical research. This came during the first international (Taqat) Forum, currently held in the British capital (London), in which the Health Authority participated.


Dr. Haidar al-Abidi, the head of the Health and Medical Education Authority, said, "The Holy Shrine has launched medical fellowships for young Iraqi students to specialise in several majors in Britain in cooperation with the best universities in the United Kingdom."


He added, "The Holy Shrine has adopted the first major prize launched in Iraq to support scientific research, during which the winners will receive $200,000, as encouragement from the Shrine for Iraqi students."


Al-A'bedi said, "We presented most of our foundation's accomplishments and activities in the medical field. These efforts were made possible by the Shrine's head clerk, Sheikh al-Karbalai.



He concluded, "The scholarships granted by the Holy Shrine have exceeded 5,000 full and partial scholarships, explaining that the forum witnessed great interaction from Iraqi academics working in British universities who expressed their admiration for what the Holy Shrine has achieved, especially in health projects and planned future projects."
