The Al-Kafeel Museum of Treasures and Manuscripts, located within the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine in Karbala, welcomed a specialized academic delegation of experts in Islamic art.

During the visit, the delegation explored the museum’s historical and cultural collections, gaining insight into the valuable artifacts and heritage treasures it preserves.

Shawqi Al-Mousawi, deputy head of the museum department, explained that the visit included the museum’s exhibition hall, artifact repository, and laboratory. These visits provided the delegation with an opportunity to examine the collections and learn about the scientific methods and techniques used in the preservation, restoration, and documentation of historical artifacts.

Al-Mousawi emphasized the scientific and cultural significance of hosting specialized academic delegations, noting that such visits facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise while strengthening cooperation between museums and academic institutions.

Iyad Mahmoud Haidar, a member of the delegation, expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and the detailed explanations provided by the museum staff. He noted that visiting the Al-Kafeel Museum at the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine offered a valuable opportunity to explore its diverse historical and cultural collections and learn more about the treasures it houses.

The visit forms part of the Al-Kafeel Museum’s ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with academic institutions and bridge the gap between theoretical study and practical application in the fields of Islamic art, cultural heritage, and artifact preservation.
