A cup of tea, an open door, and an opportunity to ask questions—that is the idea behind Visit My Mosque in the UK.

For one weekend each year, mosques across the country open their doors to the wider community, inviting visitors to share a cup of tea, ask questions, and learn more about the people and communities who worship there.

This year, as mosques continue to face racially and religiously motivated attacks, the annual Visit My Mosque weekend, organized by the Muslim Council of Britain, takes on added significance. More than 70 attacks on mosques were recorded across the UK over the past year, according to data from the British Muslim Trust, with incidents ranging from violence and property damage to harassment.

Now in its 11th year, the initiative will take place on September 19 and 20, with more than 115 mosques across the UK participating. Over the two days, people of all faiths and backgrounds are invited to meet their Muslim neighbors and learn more about the histories, traditions, and communities behind their local mosques.

Visitors can take part in mosque tours, explore exhibitions, enjoy arts and crafts, and sample refreshments, while children can participate in a range of activities.
