The Arbaeen pilgrimage has become one of the world's most remarkable expressions of faith, bringing together millions in a powerful display of devotion, generosity, and solidarity. It reflects the timeless values for which Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) stood—justice, dignity, truth, and the defense of human values.

Despite centuries of challenges, the pilgrimage has grown into a global phenomenon. In 2026, an estimated five million international pilgrims are expected to travel to Karbala from every continent. Among them are thousands from Turkey, who have established numerous service processions (mawakib) along the pilgrimage routes to assist fellow visitors.

This growing international participation reflects the universal appeal of Imam Hussain's (peace be upon him) message and the tireless efforts of volunteers and organizers who welcome pilgrims while promoting the values of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them).

Organizers emphasize that every pilgrim serves as an ambassador for these values. Respect for others, cleanliness, discipline, cooperation, and acts of kindness are seen as practical expressions of the principles embodied by Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) and opportunities to present a positive image of Islam and the Iraqi people to the world.

More than a religious gathering, Arbaeen is widely viewed as a living school of ethics—one that fosters compassion, selflessness, and mutual understanding among people of different cultures and backgrounds. For millions of pilgrims, the annual journey is both a renewal of their allegiance to Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) and a testament to the enduring relevance of his message of justice and sacrifice.
