Najaf Al-Ashraf International Airport has entered full operational mode for the Arbaeen pilgrimage, with the number of daily arriving and departing flights approaching 140, according to the Directorate of Civil Status, Passports, and Residence.

Brig. Gen. Hadi Al-Khafaji said all airport departments have mobilized their resources under the supervision of the Iraqi government to facilitate the arrival and departure of Arbaeen pilgrims. All immigration counters are operating at full capacity, with dedicated staff assisting elderly travelers and people with disabilities.

Colonel Hawraa Al-Hakim, head of the Directorate's Relations and Media Division, said the airport has handled 525 flights since the beginning of Safar, including 59,800 arrivals and 49,950 departures. She added that 10,509 electronic visas have been issued during the same period.

Al-Hakim also noted that Najaf Airport continues to receive large numbers of pilgrims and is expected to welcome the resumption of Gulf Air flights, bringing additional visitors for the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
