Thousands of pilgrims from the Kurdistan Region took part in a major Hussaini procession in the holy city of Karbala, joining Ashura mourning rituals in a display of faith and national unity. The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine provided extensive services to facilitate the pilgrims' participation.

Sheikh Ali Al-Qarawi, the Holy Shrine's representative in the Kurdistan Region, said the large turnout reflects the deep connection of the region's people to Imam Hussain and demonstrates the values of unity, brotherhood, and humanity that his message represents.

"We are proud to welcome our brothers and sisters from across the Kurdistan Region. Imam Hussain is a symbol that unites all Iraqis," Al-Qarawi said.

The procession brought together men, women, and children, with Hussaini banners, chants, and elegies in multiple languages highlighting the universal message of Imam Hussain. Al-Qarawi said the event is part of the Holy Shrine's annual program to receive pilgrims from across Iraq, reaffirming Karbala's role as a gathering place that strengthens national and spiritual bonds.
