Imam Hussain Center in Istanbul hosts Iraqi community delegation to discuss joint religious activities
The Imam Hussain Center in Istanbul, affiliated with the Media Department of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, hosted the board of directors of the Ahlulbayt Association, which represents the Iraqi community in Turkey, to discuss expanding cooperation on religious and cultural activities.
Sabah Al-Taliqani, director of the center, said the meeting focused on coordinating the organization of religious events and commemorations honoring the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them) as part of the center's broader mission across Turkey.
He added that the two sides also discussed launching a unified project to bring together members of the Iraqi community under a single framework, rather than holding activities at separate venues.
For his part, Association President Orhan Al-Salhi expressed appreciation for the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine's continued support, particularly its cooperation in organizing Imam Hussain mourning gatherings. He noted that the Holy Shrine had dispatched Sheikh Mazen Al-Tamimi to deliver religious lectures and lead mourning ceremonies over a two-week period.
Al-Salhi said the association looks forward to strengthening its partnership with the Holy Shrine to continue commemorating occasions dedicated to the Imams of the Ahlulbayt and to develop initiatives that promote religious awareness and the values of Imam Hussain among Iraqi and Arab youth living in Turkey.
