Sheikh Al-Karbalaey highlights spiritual and social lessons of Ashura
Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi Al-Karbalaey, representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, stressed the importance of drawing lessons from Ashura during the ceremony marking the replacement of the flag atop the dome of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).
He described Ashura as a lasting school of sacrifice, reform, and steadfastness in upholding truth and justice, emphasizing the need to understand the values and objectives championed by Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).
Sheikh Al-Karbalaey noted that Hussaini rituals are among the most significant expressions of honoring God’s symbols, serving as a means of strengthening faith, piety, and awareness inspired by the message of Karbala.
He also highlighted the important role of the Hussaini pulpit (minbar) in educating society and promoting the principles of the Hussaini uprising, which include reform, commitment, and moral responsibility.
The representative of the Supreme Religious Authority affirmed that the ultimate goal is to cultivate a conscious society that draws inspiration from Ashura’s enduring values of faith, reform, and human dignity.
