A delegation from the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain visited the Islamic Republic of Iran under the directives of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi Al-Karbalaey, to strengthen intellectual, cultural and religious cooperation with academic and cultural institutions.

Sheikh Ali Al-Qar'awi, Head of the Department, said the visit reflects the Holy Shrine’s ongoing efforts to expand knowledge-based partnerships that support authentic Islamic culture and promote the teachings of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them).

The delegation met with the Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority in Iran, His Eminence Sayyid Jawad Al-Shahristani, and visited several institutions, including the Al-Dalil Foundation, Al-Khuluq Al-Adheem Foundation, and the Warith Al-Anbiya Foundation for the Hussaini Renaissance. Discussions focused on joint cultural, academic and media initiatives.

Al-Qar'awi added that the delegation also visited the shrine of Shah Abdul-Adheem Al-Hasani and met with His Eminence Sayyid Ali Qazi Askar, where both sides agreed to organize joint religious and cultural activities and expand media cooperation.

In the holy city of Qom, the delegation visited the University of Hadith and Religious Sciences, where an agreement was reached to translate the “Encyclopedia of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them)” under the supervision of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain.

The visit concluded with a tour of the Dar Al-Hadith Library to explore opportunities for further scholarly and intellectual cooperation between religious and academic institutions.
