As part of the celebrations marking International Museum Day, the Museum of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain continues to strengthen its cultural and intellectual presence by showcasing a distinguished collection of rare artifacts and antiquities that reflect the richness and depth of Islamic identity and heritage. This initiative aims to promote museum awareness and align with museums around the world in advancing their shared humanitarian and cultural mission.

These annual celebrations reaffirm that the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain extends beyond its devotional role, embracing a broad spectrum of cultural, media, and service-oriented initiatives. Supported and sponsored by the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, these efforts contribute to enhancing cultural awareness and reinforcing civilizational identity. Aseel Al-Safi, an official at the Holy Shrine said, “International Museum Day is celebrated by museums worldwide with the aim of promoting museum culture and highlighting the collections and artifacts they preserve—treasures that embody the memory and civilizations of nations.”

He added, “The Museum of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain aspires to become one of the world’s leading museums and to establish a prominent position within the international museum community through its continuous activities and its cultural and intellectual mission.”

Al-Safi further explained, “Today, the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain has developed into a comprehensive institution that goes far beyond purely devotional matters. It now encompasses extensive cultural, service, and media initiatives, in line with the Shrine’s vision of supporting culture and media while promoting societal awareness.”

He emphasized that the museum administration remains committed to strengthening museum awareness and highlighting the rich civilizational and cultural heritage preserved within the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain through its ongoing annual events and activities.
