Karbala launches smart veterinary hospital system on World Veterinary Day to enhance services and combat epidemics
The Holy Governorate of Karbala marked World Veterinary Day with the launch of a new smart system for its Veterinary Hospital—an initiative representing a significant advancement in the quality of veterinary services. The inauguration ceremony was attended by government and academic officials, heads of departments and professional syndicates, as well as a number of academics and media representatives.
In a statement to Karbala Now Agency, Dr. Wissam Al-Jabri explained that the system is designed to elevate veterinary healthcare services across the board. He noted that it will help protect livestock resources and strengthen efforts to combat widespread animal diseases and epidemics.
Al-Jabri added that the system incorporates modern technologies, including automation and artificial intelligence, to address inefficiencies in existing processes. This development aligns with broader efforts to adopt innovative solutions in veterinary medicine, enhancing operational efficiency, accelerating diagnosis and follow-up, and improving overall standards of care.
He further emphasized that the smart system will streamline administrative and medical workflows within the hospital by automating procedures and enabling easier access to data. This is expected to improve service delivery for livestock breeders and visitors, while supporting the continued development of the veterinary sector in Karbala.
Al-Jabri concluded that the initiative represents an important step toward embracing technological progress in support of veterinary services—contributing not only to animal health but also to public health and food security across the governorate.
