Imam Zain Al-Abideen Teaching Hospital—affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine—has announced the scale of medical services delivered under its free “Ramadan Al-Khair” (Ramadan of Goodness) initiative, which ran throughout the holy month.

Medical Director Dr. Hassanein Hadi Al-Dabbagh stated that the hospital received approximately 38,000 patients during the initiative. He noted that services included 75,000 laboratory tests and 6,500 radiology and ultrasound examinations, in addition to CT and MRI scans.

He added that the hospital’s medical teams carried out 1,000 surgical procedures and recorded around 275 natural births during Ramadan, highlighting the extensive effort dedicated to patient care.

Al-Dabbagh further explained that the total cost of services provided under the initiative reached 580 million Iraqi dinars, emphasizing that the program is part of the Holy Shrine’s ongoing efforts to ease the financial burden on citizens—especially during the month of giving.

The initiative reflects the continued commitment of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine to delivering humanitarian healthcare programs and supporting vulnerable groups by providing accessible, high-quality medical services.
