Oil prices post weekly jump amid supply shortage fears

Oil futures rose during Friday’s trading session as the closure of the Strait of Hormuz continued, while analysts remained cautious about potential sudden developments over the weekend related to the ongoing conflict, nearly two weeks after it began.
Brent Crude futures for May delivery climbed $2.68, or 2.67%, to settle at $103.14 per barrel. Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate crude for April delivery rose $2.98, or 3.11%, reaching $98.71 per barrel.
Over the course of the week, Brent crude recorded a gain of 11.27%, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude increased by about 8%.
