The Imam Ali Holy Shrine has launched a nationwide campaign to provide iftar meals for fasting individuals across several Iraqi provinces. The initiative commenced in Diwaniyah Governorate in cooperation with local institutions, mosques, and Hussainiyahs. As part of a comprehensive humanitarian program during the holy month of Ramadan, food baskets were distributed to families in need.

Atheer Al-Tamimi, an official overseeing the campaign, stated, “Under the guidance of the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), this campaign was launched, with Diwaniyah Governorate serving as the first station.”

He further explained that the iftar initiative for visitors is accompanied by a parallel effort to distribute food baskets to underprivileged families in various provinces. This is being carried out in coordination with the Shrine’s departments, as well as humanitarian and community organizations.

This blessed campaign reflects the Shrine’s ongoing commitment to community service. The generosity of its iftar tables extends beyond individual governorates, continuing on a daily and weekly basis. Throughout the blessed month of Ramadan, iftar banquets are also hosted within the precincts of the shrine of Ameer Al-Mu’mineen (peace be upon him), ensuring that visitors and those in need alike are served.
