Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain achieves third place in international Quranic competition
The Holy Quran Department at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain participated in the ninth edition of the Port Said International Competition for Quran Memorization, Recitation, and Religious Chanting, held in the Arab Republic of Egypt, with wide participation from countries around the world.
The head of the International Quranic Media Center, Mr. Wissam Nadheer, told Karbala News Agency that the Holy Quran Department took part in the three-day competition, which brought together participants from more than 32 Arab and foreign countries.
He explained that this participation aligns with the vision of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain to support Quranic reciters and memorizers and to enable them to represent Iraq in international Quranic forums. He noted that the representative of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, the Republic of Iraq, and the Holy Quran Department—reciter Falah Al-Zalif Attia—won third place in the category of beautiful recitation.
Mr. Nadheer added that this international achievement reflects the advanced level of specialized Quranic preparation and training sponsored and supervised by the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain and its Holy Quran Department. He emphasized that the result sends a clear message about the department’s role in nurturing Quranic talents, strengthening the presence of the Iraqi Quranic school on the international stage, and serving the Holy Quran by conveying its message to the world.
